Our new space features a much larger dance floor (24x32), ceilings up to 26', industrial power, street level access and is ADA accessible.
We especially looking for long-term regular rentals with a 3 mo minimum commitment.
The MilkBar's main studio features a 24' x 32' sprung marley dance floor, with white walls and high sloping ceilings (between 15' to 26'). It's a quiet reflective space in an old industrial gem with views of the Richmond hills.
Adjoining the main space is a 1000 sf space that includes a workshop, storage, bathrooms, kitchenette, and seating / green room area.
We are the home studio for Mary Armentrout Dance Theater, video artist Ian Winters and video production company 37 North, a thriving artists residency program, the MilkBar salon program and a number of other east bay dance and performance groups. See our website at http://www.milkbar.org.
A basic PA system and 8 channel lighting set-up is available for renters with an option to rent the space set-up for video / photo shoots.
Our rental focus is on providing space for rehearsals, film & video shoots and workshops along with our artist residency program.
Our rates are extremely affordable ($20/hr and $17/hr for renters using 10 hours or more a month).
We are located just off of 580 near the Richmond Bridge / Pt Richmond and Bay Trail, and approximately 1 mile from the Richmond BART.
New prospective renters should make an appointment to meet with either Mary or Ian for an orientation to the space.

|How To Book||
Please review our calendar for prospective open times and then email firstname.lastname@example.org with your requests along with email and phone number. Either Mary or Ian will get back to you within 48 hours. In general we request at 7 days notice for space bookings, and recommend contacting us at least 4 weeks out.
|Hours Of Operation||by appointment or rental only. rehearsal hours are generally between 8am and 10pm.|
|Rental Policy||* Be an existing renter or complete a space orientation at least 7 days in advance with Mary or Ian * Key deposit of $50 * a 50% deposit is required on booking, and payment in full by the first rehearsal. * While we very rarely do so, the MilkBar reserves the right to cancel or reschedule a rehearsal 30 days out if needed by our resident company. Renters will receive credit for a future rehearsal. * Please see the full rental agreement for all rental policies.|
