Built in 1879, the Napa Valley Opera House (NVOH) is a restored historic venue -- one of only two second story theatres in California. Upstairs is the 467-seat Margrit Biever Mondavi Theatre. Downstairs is a Cafe Theatre that can host receptions, small theatre productions, cabaret and events that seat 150 to 323 standing. Two full bars plus a catering kitchen are also located on the first floor. NVOH is a presenting organization as well as facility manager. NVOH has presented artists from Elvis Costello to Queen Latifah to Ruth Ann Swenson and a multitude of dance, theatre and musical events for the past 8 years

Restrictions On Use NVOH owns a marley floor. NVOH also has a small orchestra pit available for up to 23 musicians. Alcohol is only permitted in the Cafe Theatre. No food or drink (except bottled water) is allowed in the upstairs theatre. For dance requirements, a meeting with the NVOH technical director is required. Stage floor is wood (not sprung). Cafe Theatre is hardwood floor.

Cancellation Policy There is a 90 day, 60 day and 30 day "out" policy with a cancellation fee assessed accordingly. A deposit of 50% of total rental costs is required at least 60 days out with final payment made prior to first day of rental. An insurance policy with a $1 million liability clause is required and non-negotiable.
